The essentials
Use the tools responsibly. Review every draft. Submit through official channels. Share only what you intend to share.
This overview is a guide; the full terms below apply.
1. Using Builder
These Terms of Use apply to builder.cherthere.com and its letter builders, testimony helpers, templates, housing-data tools, resource links, and creative learning tools (the “Service”), operated by CherThere LLC (“CherThere,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
The tools are intended for lawful educational, personal, and community use. If you use them for an organization or another person, you must have permission to do so.
2. Educational use and professional advice
CherThere provides general information and drafting assistance. The Service does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, financial, or other licensed professional advice. Using it does not create an attorney-client, healthcare, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
Templates, resource listings, calculations, and drawing instructions may be incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Consult a qualified professional when you need advice about your particular situation. CherThere is not an emergency service.
3. Your drafts and submissions
You decide what to write, what to share, and where to submit it. Creating, printing, or downloading a draft does not file it with a court, deliver it to a legislator, apply for benefits, or meet a deadline.
- Review and personalize every output. Check names, addresses, facts, district information, dates, and requested actions.
- Confirm current eligibility, deadlines, required forms, and submission instructions with the official recipient or provider.
- Submit through the appropriate official channel and keep your confirmation or receipt.
- Share only information you are authorized and comfortable to disclose. Testimony or other submissions to public bodies may become publicly available.
Housing-data tables and estimates do not determine eligibility, available assistance, or permitted rent for a particular program. Confirm the applicable year, location, household size, and program rules with the administering agency.
CherThere does not guarantee a response, acceptance, approval, award, benefit, or other result. Government, school, and organization names or links do not imply their sponsorship or endorsement of CherThere.
4. Privacy and browser storage
Read the Privacy Statement for information about how different features handle data. Using a tool without an account does not mean that no information is processed.
Letter and testimony tools generally assemble drafts in your browser. Some tools may save drafts or preferences on your device, so closing or refreshing a page may not erase them. Clearing browser storage can remove saved drafts and preferences; it does not remove files you have downloaded or information you have sent elsewhere.
Some features need network requests. For example, generating portraiture instructions sends the selected image and request to the site’s backend for AI processing. District lookup features may use lookup services or official websites. Site measurement tools, including Google Tag Manager, and hosting or security services may process technical information.
Avoid unnecessary sensitive information, especially on shared devices. An HTTPS connection helps protect information in transit; it does not guarantee confidentiality, anonymity, or that information is never stored.
5. Images and AI-assisted tools
Only upload images or other material that you own or have permission to use and process through the tool. Obtain permission from identifiable people where required, and appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian for images of children.
AI-generated drawing guidance may contain mistakes, omit details, or produce unexpected results. Review it before using or sharing it. It is for creative learning and should not be used to identify a person or make decisions about someone’s health, identity, or other sensitive characteristics.
You retain any rights you hold in material you provide. Providing material authorizes its processing as needed to respond to your request, as described in the Privacy Statement. It does not give CherThere permission to publish your image for advertising.
6. Respectful and lawful use
Use the Service in a way that respects other people and keeps the tools available to the community. Do not:
- Use it for unlawful activity, fraud, impersonation, harassment, threats, or infringement of another person’s rights.
- Submit malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, bypass security controls, or interfere with the Service.
- Use automation that overloads the Service or generates spam or abusive requests.
- Present generated content as an official government document, professional opinion, or endorsement when it is not.
We may restrict access reasonably necessary to address misuse, security concerns, or legal requirements.
7. Ownership and permitted use
Except for material owned by you or others, CherThere retains applicable rights in its branding, original site content, design, and code.
You may use the available tools and personalize, copy, print, download, and share the drafts or instructions they produce for lawful personal, educational, organizational, and community advocacy purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership of the Service, authorize use of CherThere branding as your own, or authorize redistribution of proprietary site code.
Third-party content remains subject to its owners’ rights and any applicable licenses. Nothing in these terms limits uses allowed by law.
8. Outside resources and donations
External websites, organizations, AI providers, and payment services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. CherThere does not control their content, availability, eligibility decisions, or handling of information you provide to them. Verify important details directly.
Donations are voluntary support for the project and are handled through the linked payment provider. A donation does not purchase professional services, preferential treatment, or a guaranteed outcome. Do not assume that a contribution to CherThere LLC is tax-deductible.
For mistaken or duplicate donations, contact CherThere and the payment provider promptly. Any rights available under applicable law or the provider’s policies remain in effect.
9. Availability and warranties
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue tools or content. Save your own copies of anything you need to keep.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access, complete or current information, or any particular result.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, CherThere LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service, including lost data, lost opportunities, or interruptions.
These terms do not exclude or limit liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where a limitation is not permitted, it applies only to the extent the law allows.
11. Updates and applicable law
We may revise these terms as the Service changes. The “Last updated” date identifies the version posted here. Changes apply prospectively, and we will provide any additional notice or obtain consent required by law.
Hawaiʻi law and applicable federal law govern these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
